Robinson was a member of the undefeated freshman football team and played varsity on the Group II playoff team. As a sophomore, he was a member of the undefeated regular season football team and broke the 100 meter record in track at the Metuchen freshman / sophomore meet. He was County, Conference, Sectional, and Group II State champion in the 100 meter dash. He was also Sectional Champion in the 200 meter dash. He was member of the Group II State Championship team.
As a junior he was captain of the football team and 1st team All County and All Conference. He was 2nd team All State. Mason was Conference and Sectional Champ in the 100 and 20 meters. He was County Champ in the 100 meters and tied the school record in the 100 meters. The team won the sectional Championship. He placed 3rd in the 100 meters in the Meet of Champions. He was 1st team All County, Conference, and Group II All State.
As a senior Mason was team captain in football and the 7th ranked player in the state by Rivals.com. This earned him 1st team All County, All Conference, All Area, and All State honors. He was undefeated in the 100, 200, and 4 x 400. He was Group II champ in the 100, 200, and 400, and a member of the Group II state championship team. He won the 100 meters at the Meet of Champions with a school record time of 10.2 handheld and 10.51 automatic. He was 3rd in the Meet of Champions in the 200 and broke the school record with a handheld time of 21.2 and 21.66 automatic. His 100 time was the 7th fastest in state history. He also broke the County all-time record for the 100 meter. He was 1st team All County, Conference, and State in track and was named athlete of the year.
Robinson went on to a successful football career at Rutgers University on full scholarship winning the Paul Robeson award, Iron Knight Award, and Black Engineer of the Year award. He was named captain for the 2012 season.
