Scott received four varsity letters in football and four varsity letters in track.  In track he threw the discus all four years and was named 1st team All Conference his junior and senior years.

Scott played end and tackle at SHS and was a member for the Central jersey Group II State Championship team in 1994.  He made 1st team All Conference and ALl Area in his senior year.  As a senior he was also 1st team All County and 2nd team All State Group II as while as serving as team captain.  He played both ways on offense and defense while never leaving the game.  Scott was named to the Scholar Athlete Award for three years and listed in the High School Edition “Who’s Who In Sports” in 1996-97.  He was listed in the National Book of Gridiron Greats in his senior year of AMerica’s top high school football prospects.

Buchanan earned a division one full scholarship to Rhode Island University where he lettered for three years playing tackle.  He received the Scholar Athlete Award for three years and graduated Cum Athlete Award for three years and graduated Cum Laude with a B.S. in Physical Education.  He is a teacher at Mt. Olive High School where he coaches the line in football and girls field events in track.
