Jon was one of the most gifted athletes ever to attend SHS. He four letters in football, two in track and one in wrestling. His football team only lost five games in his four year career at SHS. They won three Group Championship titles. He led the State in scoring and was named Player of the Week by the Rutgers Downtown Club. He was named the Home News “Player of the Year”. His greatest honor was being selected as one of two running backs on the All-American team. He was placed on the Blue Chip All-American Team and played in the North/South High School All Star game.
At Penn State, he lettered all four years and played in four bowl games. He made second team All East and was a starter on the 1982-83 National Championship team. He was the ABC Player of the Game against Notre Dame and still holds the rushing record for a sophomore at Penn State. He played in the Senior Bowl.
Jon played three years for the New England Patriots in the NFL where he was leading kick returner on the team. A knee injury ended his career.
He and his wife live in Massachusetts with their two daughters. He is Special Assistant to the Secretary of the State of Massachusetts.
